Coming soon to iPhone
Save it, plan it, cook it with timers.
Feast Mode is coming soon to iPhone: import any recipe, flip Feast Mode, add it to your week plan and grocery list, and cook with timers on your Lock Screen. Join the waitlist for one email the day it launches.
We’ll email the day Feast Mode is on the App Store. Until then, the recipes are open.
How it works
Every line is read the way the Feast Mode app reads it: amount, unit, ingredient. The ingredient is matched to one of 389 pantry foods mapped to USDA FoodData Central (SR Legacy), or typical label values for a few modern products USDA doesn't list. Cups, spoons and counts become grams using USDA portion weights; grams × per-100 g values are added up and divided by your servings.
Lines we can't match are shown and left out of the totals, so a missed ingredient never sneaks in a made-up number, and weights we had to estimate are flagged. It's rule-based: no AI is involved. The full method is on How we calculate.
Pasted text stays in your browser: the maths runs on this page, and your last paste is remembered on this device only. A link is fetched once by our server to read the recipe card or TikTok caption, and we don't keep a copy.
Questions
How do you calculate the protein in a recipe?
Each line is read for its amount, unit and ingredient. The ingredient is matched to one of 389 foods mapped to USDA FoodData Central (or typical label values for a few products USDA doesn't list, like chickpea pasta), the amount is converted to grams, multiplied by the per-100 g values and divided by servings. It's rule-based, with no AI.
How accurate are the numbers?
They're estimates. Brands, cuts and portioning vary, and amounts like "a handful" or "1 medium onion" use typical weights (flagged in the table). Lines we can't match are shown and left out of the totals rather than guessed. Weights in grams or ounces give the closest numbers. This is not medical advice.
Can I paste a TikTok or a recipe link?
Yes. For a recipe blog we read the page's recipe card; for TikTok we read the video's caption. Instagram and some sites can't be read automatically: copy the ingredients or the caption and paste them into the box instead.
What does the Feast Mode switch change?
It applies like-for-like swaps such as sour cream to nonfat Greek yogurt, heavy cream to blended cottage cheese, 80/20 beef to 93% lean and regular pasta to chickpea pasta, then recomputes protein and calories from the same USDA data, so you see the exact difference per serving.
